Our
Clients
Firstly, congratulations on taking the first steps to saving furniture from landfill and reimagining your existing furniture with a little TLC. Here at TUL, we work with a diverse range of customers.
Some might be homeowners looking to revamp their furniture to match new décor or to restore sentimental pieces with emotional value. Others could be businesses seeking to refurbish office furniture or restaurants aiming to refresh their seating arrangements. We also collaborate with interior designers and bespoke joiners, helping bring their creative visions to life.
Regardless of the customer, as an upholsterer, our skills are often sought after for its ability to transform and rejuvenate furniture pieces.

Domestic
CLIENTs
Here at TUL we love nothing more than to breathe new life into your furniture, fixing any structural issues, replacing foams and fillings and giving your furniture a new shiny coat. There’s so much waste in the world already, why buy twice when you can make what you have new again.
My favourite moto “May these furniture pieces go on to outlive us all!”

"How do we go about it?" I hear you say.
Well, it’s all pretty straight forward and starts with you emailing a picture of your furniture/project along with any problems that you are aware of, to info@theupholsterylady.co.uk.
We’re pretty well rehearsed here at TUL and between us, there aren’t many chairs that we haven’t upholstered before. This gives us lots of experience in quoting and estimating fabric quantities.
We aim to get back to you with an estimation of costs, quantity of fabric required and lead times, within 48 hours. Sometimes we take a little longer simply because we are working away in the workshop and not always at our laptops. All estimations are for labour and materials initially, fabric costs vary and are therefore priced separately.

Did someone say fabric?!
Without doubt, the most import part of this process is choosing the right fabric for the job. Fabric choice not only has to be pleasing on the eye and fit in with your existing interiors, but also be the right kind of fabric to sit well on the piece of furniture you have. We will help guide you with our experience and put forward our recommendations/ point you in the right direction for browsing.
When the upholstery quote has been agreed, and work scheduled in, we will begin discussions regarding fabric choice. A fabric brief will be taken, and fabric samples sent to your home for consideration.
We have a couple of suppliers which we regularly use for
our domestic work, please take a look through the links below for inspiration.
If there is a particular fabric that you have in mind that’s okay too, we deal with a large range of suppliers on a regular basis.
When fabric has been agreed, purchased and received we will arrange a suitable time to come and collect your furniture ready for us to begin the work.
Commercial
CLIENTS
If you have a commercial need for upholstery let's start by having a conversation about what’s involved. Very quickly it will become apparent if we are in a position to work together based on timelines etc. We have a trusted joiner by the name of Vinny, who builds on site and installs our upholstery. We have worked on many different projects with Vinny over the years, and are well experienced in all sorts of builds. Along with Vinny we have access to a team of upholsterers and machinists to get any project over the line. We work with Crib 5 fabrics which adhere to UK fire regulations for commercial settings.
Whilst we are a small business in this field, we believe our work speaks for itself, please take a look through some examples of our commercial work below.
So, if you have a need for a pedicure station in a salon, seating in restaurants or bars in bars, we would jump at the chance to get involved!
